We had a record-breaking 700 registered walkers at the Walk for Hunger on Saturday, April 29. The annual one-mile walk around Breakhrough’s campus raises funds and awareness to increase food access in Garfield Park. Thanks to this year’s efforts, we raised $70,000 for the Fresh Market food pantry, which is equivalent to fresh, high-quality food for 2,800 families of four for 2 months from the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Thank you to the friends, neighbors, volunteers, and donors who helped make the event a success! The advocacy of the Breakthrough family moves our mission forward.
