Breakthrough has recently launched monthly Holiday Service Events to help accommodate larger groups who desire to come and serve at the Joshua Center or Breakthrough Ministry Center.

Saturday, March 27th, 9am:
Easter is just around the corner! To help the families of East Garfield Park celebrate, Breakthrough will be putting together and distributing ham Easter baskets for our Fresh Market guests. Groups participating in the basket distribution are asked to donate items for the baskets, including hams, corn bread stuffing, canned green beans, canned corn, cranberry sauce, instant mashed potatoes, yams. Can't attend but want to help out? Breakthrough will begin accepting donations for the baskets on March 1st.
Saturday, April 17th, 9am:
The snow might not be completely gone, but it’s already time for spring cleaning! With over 100 meals prepared every month in the Breakthrough Ministry Center and Joshua Center kitchens, it’s time for a deep clean. Groups will be responsible for providing a portion of the cleaning supplies.
Saturday, May 8th, 9am:
May is a time to celebrate the women in our lives and thank them for their love, patience and support. Join the women of Breakthrough’s Joshua Center for a day of pampering. Groups will be responsible for providing food, beverages, nail polish, manicure and pedicure tools and decorations.
Saturday, June 19th, 11am:
In June, we turn our attention to thanking the men in our lives. Join us for a day of BBQ-ing with our Dwelling Place guests. Groups will be responsible for providing food, beverages, disposable plates and cups.
Friday, July 16th, 5pm:
July brings with it the annual Home Court Breakthrough basketball tournament. Volunteer at one of our Home Court block parties with games, food and music. Groups will be responsible for providing food, entertainment and crafts.
Saturday August 28th, 9am:
It’s time to go back to school! Help the Breakthrough Youth Team prepare the building for the return of the school day. Projects include youth area clean up, library organizing and washing of the Breakthrough vehicles.
Saturday, September, 9am:
Join Breakthrough for our first annual Harvest Day! Donations of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as other healthy food items will be available for our Fresh Market guests in a festive outdoor area. Groups are asked to donate items for the Harvest Day as well as help to provide decorations.
Friday, October 22nd, 6pm:

Saturday, November 20th, 9am:
Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate our many blessings with family and friends. Breakthrough will be putting together and distributing turkey baskets to our Fresh Market guests. Groups are asked to donate items for the baskets.
The Christmas Season:
Breakthrough’s “12 Days of Christmas” will provide 12 different service events throughout the many Breakthrough programs. These include parties, decorating, crafts and other fun events. Stay tuned to this page for more information.
